Our theme this year is “Enhancing global trade through women’s economic empowerment”, with a fireside chat featuring these dynamic, accomplished women in impressive leadership roles:

Oonagh established and oversees CIGI’s international law research agenda, which includes policy-relevant research on issues of international economic law, environmental law, IP law and innovation, and Indigenous law. She has spearheaded innovative CIGI initiatives on women’s economic empowerment, including a conference at the World Trade Organization (WTO). She has extensive experience as a senior executive in the federal government, providing legal policy, advisory and litigation services, and strategic leadership in international law, national security, public law, human rights and governance.

Dr. Wendy Cukier is one of Canada’s leading experts in disruptive technologies, innovation processes and diversity. She is a senior consultant with Grow Trade Consulting and is also the Ontario rep for TFO (Trade Facilitation Office) Canada. She served on the Minister of International Trade’s SME Advisory Board (2008-11) and provides stakeholder input for OWIT in consultations on free trade agreements, including the NAFTA renegotiation. She has been honoured with international awards, including the TIAW World of Difference 100 Award which recognizes 100 women worldwide for contributing to women’s economic empowerment.

Francophonie en Fête unveils its program for our Annual Francophone Music Festival which runs Sept 20-29 2018.
The 13th edition of the Francophonie en Fête Festival is a week-long celebration including two full weekends of the francophone diversity that Toronto enjoys, brought together on stages across Toronto in a series of free and paid concerts. Through the Festival period an in-school educational program will be delivered to French-language schools across Toronto.

A Celebration of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)
Save the date, it is CETA’s first year anniversary!
On September 21, 2017 The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement was provisionally implemented, reinforcing the relationship and common ground between Canada and the European Union.
On this occasion, EUCCAN is organizing a series of four events across Canada to honor the arrangement that is now recognized as the most progressive and inclusive free trade agreement to ever be signed.
EUCCAN is pleased to announce the dates of these events are as follow:
